Cardi B's Plastic Surgery Journey and Warnings
Back in June, Cardi B disclosed to her Instagram followers that she was contemplating a tummy tuck. “I simply don't appreciate this excess loose skin. It's not that I'm significantly heavier than usual, but I'm not fond of it. I aim to get rid of it,” she stated, playfully claiming that her son, Wave, whom she gave birth to in September 2024, “did her wrong.” We would have presumed abdominoplasty to be her subsequent plastic surgery, but it emerged that another procedure took precedence.
In a recent Instagram Live, Cardi informed her fans that she desired to be forthright with them regarding what she had undergone a few months ago. “In August, I underwent surgery and removed 95% of my biopolymers… If you're unaware of what this is, it's ass shots. It was an extremely wild process. All I will say is that if you're young, say 19, 20, or 21, and at times you're overly slender, and you think, ‘[Oh my goodness,] I don't have sufficient fat for my ass,’ then resorting to ass shots is not advisable!”
In 2018, the rapper disclosed to GQ that she had received illegal silicone butt injections in a basement in Queens, New York, for $800. “It was the most insane pain ever. I felt as if I was about to faint. I felt somewhat dizzy. And it leaked for approximately five days,” she mentioned at that time. There are numerous reasons to avoid getting injections from anyone who isn't a board-certified doctor or nurse. To list just a few: There's no way to determine the type of material being injected and whether it's sterile. Accidentally injecting into a blood vessel can even result in death; and extracting silicone from the body frequently leaves patients disfigured.
It remains unknown what other procedures, if any, Cardi underwent to balance her backside after the silicone removal, but it's probable that she received a fat transfer concurrently, as a cursory look at her Instagram feed reveals that she surely hasn't lost her hourglass figure. She also issued a caution regarding Brazilian butt lifts: “When it comes to BBLs, if you all seek advice from me, before getting your BBL done, you must ensure that your blood levels are fine. If a doctor indicates that your blood levels are too low or you have diabetes or similar conditions, don't proceed with it.”
