Frequent sharp pains are often associated with nerve pain, especially considering that the nerves in your breast and nipple were cut during surgery. As these nerves regenerate and recover, it is common to experience sharp pains.

Welcome to our forum! Pain following breast reduction surgery is typically temporary and should resolve within approximately 6 weeks. If you are experiencing persistent chronic pain one year after surgery, it is likely due to early nerve regeneration, which can result in abnormal sensations or pain known as dysthesia. This may take up to a year or two to fully resolve. If the discomfort significantly interferes with your daily activities, I recommend visiting your plastic surgeon for further evaluation.
