I'm contemplating getting an abdominoplasty and have concerns about adhesions and scar tissue from my previous three c-sections. Would these be removed by the plastic surgeon during the abdominoplasty?
Abdominoplasty, also known as a tummy tuck, can be an excellent procedure for removing previous C-section scars and addressing other pregnancy-related changes in the abdomen. C-section scars often cause indentations, which can be smoothed out through a tummy tuck.
During an abdominoplasty, the old scar and underlying scar tissue from previous C-sections are typically removed. This results in a more refined abdominal contour; however, it does create a longer scar from the abdominoplasty procedure.
