I underwent a FUE procedure one month ago, during which 2900 grafts were transplanted. I noticed that I had lost many of the transplanted hairs, and my hair appeared uneven. As a result, I used a clipper with a number 1 setting. Will this have any impact on my grafts?
Typically, you can cut your donor area with scissors after 2-3 weeks following the operation. However, for the transplanted area, it is advisable to use scissors after 6 months.
Hello, thank you for your question. After the surgery, I usually advise my patients to refrain from getting a haircut for 1 month. After one month, you are free to comb and have a haircut. If you are one month post-op, you can use clippers, but only on the donor area. It is better to avoid shaving the transplanted area for at least 6 months.
Using clippers two weeks after surgery is fine as long as everything has healed.
Shaving or cutting hair after surgery is sometimes done by doctors, even as soon as one day after the procedure. Use common sense and be cautious around the surgical area.
