I'm considering breast augmentation via fat transfer and my husband is interested in losing his belly fat. Is it possible to use his fat for my procedure? How much would this cost? How should I get started finding a local doctor who offers this service?
When considering fat transfer, it is important to note that only identical twins can transfer fat without a risk of rejection. It is generally recommended to use fat from your own abdomen or thighs. I suggest consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon who is a member of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. They can discuss your options for fat transfer or breast implants based on your specific situation.
Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to transfer someone else's fat into our own bodies. Although patients often express a willingness to donate fat for this purpose, it is not feasible.
Using your husband's excesses for fat grafting in buttock augmentation is unlikely to be successful unless you are identical twins. It's recommended to consult a local plastic surgeon to explore if there are areas in your case that can be harvested for grafting. Liposuction patients in my practice have the option to have fat grafting at additional costs, including OR, anesthesia, and prep kits.
Fat transfer from your husband is not possible for breast augmentation. Fat transfer can provide up to one cup increase in size, but if you desire more, implants may be necessary. Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon to explore all your options.
