I underwent a breast augmentation previously, and one of my breasts was constricted. Consequently, I developed a tuberous 'snoopy dog' deformity in that breast. I've sought multiple doctors' opinions on correcting this issue. Two suggested lowering the breast to rectify the high placement of the implant. Another proposed a breast lift as the correct solution to prevent recurrence of the 'snoopy dog' deformity. These conflicting suggestions have left me bewildered. Could you provide some guidance?
These cases can be challenging, and a photo would be helpful for better assessment. With an implant already in place, which has stretched the lower pole of the breast, the solution may involve repositioning the implant if it is positioned too high, along with a peri-areolar lift to reposition the sagging breast tissue. Seeking a third opinion is also an option. Good luck.
A breast lift is typically performed to correct a snoopy deformity, but in your case, since you have tuberous breasts, you may require a mastotomy to release the constricting bands in addition to the breast lift. However, if your breasts are severely constricted and have not been stretched by breast implants, a more complex procedure known as soft tissue expansion may be necessary. It is advisable to consult with an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon for further guidance.
