I had liposuction on my stomach, back, and side flanks in November 2015. Approximately 7000cc of fat was removed, but I still experience significant discomfort and occasional pain. The lower back and side flanks feel tight and produce a burning stretching sensation when I move. My back is also hot to the touch and sweats excessively. I am uncertain if this is still part of the healing process or if I should be concerned about these symptoms.
Pain after liposuction can be prolonged when laser or ultrasonically assisted techniques are used due to thermal damage. Could you confirm if your liposuction involved these modalities?
It is uncommon to experience pain this long after surgery. I recommend seeing your physician for an evaluation. Best regards.
Persistent pain after liposuction may be caused by a 'hot' technique such as vaser or laser, which can result in internal tissue burn. It is recommended to discuss the pain and expectations with your surgeon.
Experiencing pain three months after surgery is a bit unusual. I would advise you to schedule a follow-up appointment with your surgeon to discuss and evaluate the cause of your pain.
