It has been over 5 months since I had liposuction, and I believe I developed hemosiderin. Is there anything I can do to improve or make it go away? Additionally, I have loose skin, fibrosis, and an uneven stomach. Do you have any recommendations to restore my stomach back to its normal state?
I apologize for the disappointing liposuction result you have experienced. The irregularities may be due to excessive fat removal, and the discoloration could be hemosiderin, hyperpigmentation, or deep damage from laser liposuction. The loose skin is a result of removing a significant amount of supporting fat. I suggest consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss your result and potential treatment options. If the discoloration is hyperpigmentation, using 100% shea or cocoa butter twice a day may help fade the color. Best wishes.
At five months post-liposuction, your results can be considered close to final or close enough that further waiting is unlikely to result in substantial changes. Hemosiderin deposits, which can cause discoloration, take a long time to resolve and may continue to improve for up to a year and a half. Minimizing hemosiderin deposits can be achieved by waiting at least 15 minutes after injecting tumescent solution before starting the procedure. This allows the epinephrine in the solution to take full effect, reducing bleeding and improving various aspects of the procedure. Unfortunately, there is no way to speed up the removal of hemosiderin deposits other than giving it time. At this point, your results can be considered final, but you can discuss the option of revision surgery with your surgeon if desired. Best regards.
It is still early to determine the final results. Swelling can last for 3-6 months after the procedure. Additional treatments such as hyperbaric oxygen, lymphatic massage, Vanquish for fat removal, and skin tightening procedures can be considered for improved results.
