I suffer from Behcets and have been experiencing significant discomfort where my bra band sits. I recently underwent an MRI. The results revealed radial folds without any evidence of silicone outside the envelope, but with trace amounts of fluid surrounding the implants. Given that my implants are double-walled, could it be that the fluid is just saline? If so, wouldn't that imply that the implants are still intact? I've had these implants for 29 years, and they appear and feel like natural breasts. I have not seen any discussions about other saline & silicone implants. Could you please shed some light on this matter? Thank you.
Thanks for your question. The matter of older style implants is a common discussion topic. The best first step is an in-person consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon in your locality. Some believe that if there's no sign of rupture or capsular contracture symptoms, it's best to leave things as they are. Another prevalent viewpoint is to replace older implants with newer-generation cohesive gel implants. An experienced aesthetic breast surgeon can collaborate with you to formulate a treatment plan that caters to your current requirements and future aspirations with your implants. Wishing you the best in achieving your desired outcome.
