I'm 32 years old, and I have noticed that my tailbone protrudes like two dots at the mid end of my spine. It is visible and can be felt easily. Some doctors have advised against its removal, stating potential risks, while others have suggested butt implants. Based on the photo I provided, could you please let me know if it is easy to remove? Can any type of filler be used to cover it up and make it smooth to the touch? I feel self-conscious about it and would like to address this issue. Thank you for your help.
If this is the tip of the coccyx, it can be removed or shaved. Coccygectomy is performed to alleviate pain, particularly when the coccyx is highly mobile. The scar is typically placed on top of the coccyx and heals very well. Postoperatively, there is usually pain when sitting, mostly for three weeks. Butt implants will not cover the area, and fat grafting as a filler may help soften it, but the buttock is not the appropriate region to fill with fat.
Implants will not help to cover the prominent bone over your sacrum. If the growth is coming from your coccyx, I would recommend its resection. If it's excess growth from your sacrum, it can be smoothed down. Fat transfer or fillers can be used to fill this area, but it may make your lower back appear fat and unattractive, affecting the heart shape of your buttocks.
Buttock implants would not provide any value in your case. Fat grafting, using your own fat, may be a suitable option to contour the area with reasonable results. Other fillers are unlikely to be helpful.
