I'm interested in getting lip fillers for fuller lips but want to avoid the fake duck look. Based on the photos you think a 1ml syringe will be sufficient, or should I opt for 2ml? I feel that 1ml might be too little. Should I request an equal split between the top and bottom lip or go for a 60/40 ratio? I've also read that the final look depends on where the filler is injected (edge or center). Based on the photos, could you provide some tips so I can be prepared for my upcoming appointment? Thank you.
I would recommend starting with 1 ml of a filler such as Juvederm or Restylane. Focus on injecting most of the filler into your upper lip, as your lower lip already appears quite full. If desired, you can consider additional filler treatment 1 to 2 weeks after the initial session.
I suggest starting with one syringe and waiting for approximately two weeks before deciding if you would like to get another syringe. This allows time to assess the initial results and make an informed decision about additional treatment.
I typically advise my patients to start with 1 ml of filler in the lips and wait 10-14 days to evaluate the final look after the swelling subsides. Based on the results, a decision can be made whether to proceed with a second 1 ml syringe. It is important not to rush the process. I recommend discussing your concerns and desired look with your injector.
Starting with one syringe of filler is often recommended to avoid an overly full or unnatural appearance. More can be added later if desired and after swelling has subsided.
