I'm interested in pursuing a breast reduction, hopefully covered under our extended health plan, but I'm uncertain about whether I'll meet the eligibility criteria. My plan doesn't stipulate a minimum gram requirement. My breast size has peaked at 32N while breastfeeding, but through dedicated weight loss efforts, I've managed to reduce to a 32I. However, the I cup is noticeably saggy and deflated with excessive skin. I'm planning to lose an additional 20 pounds, so I anticipate my size will further decrease. When does a procedure transition from being classified as a breast reduction to a breast lift? My aspiration is to reduce to a C cup. Despite the decrease in my breast size, I still suffer from muscle tension, headaches, discomfort and pain from bras, and skin irritation under my breasts, although the severity of pain has lessened.
Thank you for your question.
You are an excellent candidate for a breast reduction. It's important to understand the distinction between a breast reduction and a breast lift. A breast reduction involves the removal of breast tissue, while a breast lift focuses on removing excess skin. In the case of a breast reduction, the removed breast tissue is typically sent for pathological evaluation. This procedure will not only reduce the volume of your breasts to a C cup, but it will also address excess skin and reduce the size of the areola. I hope this information is helpful to you. Best of luck!
