I recommend revisiting your plastic surgeon to have the protruding suture removed. You can watch my video for more information. It is common for sutures to poke through during the healing process, and they are typically easily removable.
In some cases, a few stitches may not be tolerated by the body and can come to the surface. These are referred to as "spitting sutures" by surgeons. Exposed stitches do not heal because they are seen as foreign bodies. It is best to have them painlessly removed instead of trimming them short. The stitch wound will then heal rapidly. I recommend consulting with your surgeon before taking any action.
