While I personally preferred the original brand of Accutane, it is no longer available on the market due to its higher cost compared to generic brands containing isotretinoin (the active ingredient in Accutane). All the generic brands (Amnesteen, Sortret, Claravis) of isotretinoin have shown to be equally effective when properly dosed and monitored. The newest brand, Absorica, claims to have better absorption, but its actual effectiveness is still under debate. In my experience, all brands of isotretinoin are highly effective when used correctly.

I have not found any generic brand of Accutane to be superior to others. There is a brand called Absorica that may have better absorption with less food if you eat less. However, it is important for your doctor to specifically prescribe this medication as it is not considered a generic like other brands of isotretinoin.
