After receiving Botox injections for my migraines today, the doctor advised me not to apply ice or heat for 1 or 2 days. However, I've read conflicting information online, suggesting that ice should be okay. I typically use ice packs wrapped around my head for migraines, and I'm concerned that if I experience a migraine in the next 2 days, I won't be able to use this method. Can someone please provide clarification or guidance?

You can safely apply ice after Botox injections. We routinely apply a cold compress after each Botox treatment to enhance patient comfort and minimize swelling. Applying heat, on the other hand, may increase swelling and the risk of bruising. Botox is heat sensitive, but only at high temperatures (176 degrees Fahrenheit) that your skin cannot tolerate.
