I have received various services at a medical spa, including facials, microdermabrasion, and Botox, among others. I have always left a tip, but I never thought about tipping the doctor. Am I mistaken? Should I also tip the doctor or injector? It seems like the aesthetician/assistant does most of the work except for the injection itself. The doctor does an excellent job, but I never considered tipping them or the RN injector. I also refer my friends to the same spa. What should I tell them about tipping to avoid any awkwardness? Thank you.
Each practice may have different policies, but most doctors do not accept tips. However, tips can be given to aestheticians. Best regards.
Thank you for your question. In our practice, physicians do not expect tips, and we do not accept them either. However, it is customary to tip aestheticians if they provide excellent service. This practice is common throughout the country.
Tipping for injectable procedures is unnecessary and not expected. However, tips for aesthetician-performed HydraFacials are graciously accepted.
Tipping is not customary at Med Spas for doctors, nurses, medical aestheticians, or medical assistants. Leaving a review would be appreciated if you are satisfied with the service.
