Hello, about six months ago, I had rhinoplasty done and recently I've noticed that my nose leans off center. The left side of the tip of my nose is very hard, while the right side is soft. Additionally, my nostrils are different sizes. I've seen my surgeon twice, and injections were given on the softer side. However, I'm concerned about the tip and why one side is so pronounced. Is this normal at the six-month stage? Thank you.
Recovery from rhinoplasty takes time and it may take several months for all the swelling to completely subside. If your surgeon has already administered injections, it suggests that you've had some difficulties during your recovery. At the six-month mark, your nostrils should be relatively even and it is unlikely that they will correct further at this point. The tip of the nose tends to remain swollen for up to a year, and this swelling gradually dissipates, sometimes causing asymmetry during the process. It's important to have regular post-operative follow-ups with your surgeon to address your concerns. It might also be beneficial to seek a second opinion from another surgeon before considering any further injections to your nose. Best regards, Michael V.
Based on the information provided, it is difficult to make a precise recommendation without consistent photographs for comparison.
If after six months the nose is leaning or the nostril is uneven, it is advisable to consult the surgeon. Steroid injections may be used to aid in the healing process. Discuss your concerns and expectations with your surgeon.
